Single braid rope is an excellent choice for boating because of its ultimate strength and low weight. Unlike double braid rope, single braid has no cover, which adds bulk and weight. Some single braid ropes use blends of different fibers to make handling easier; others are pure Dyneema for the best strength, but handling can be difficult. These ropes are commonly used for control lines and to travel through blocks where a very high-strength, slippery, and small-diameter line is needed.
